Dive Certification
Per WCST requirements, swimmers must receive dive certification by coaches in order to do dive starts at meets.
Only new swimmers, or those not yet certified with our team, need to be certified. 5-year-olds don't get certified and they are required to do in water starts.
6 & up do get certified. Dive certification must be done for anyone who is new to the team regardless of whether you swim somewhere else during the year. All kids ages 6-18 have to be dive certified to be able to dive in summer swim meets.
If your child does not get dive certified, they will have to do in water starts (one hand on wall, push off wall at the start whistle).
Once you are dive certified, you do not have to do that again. You are good for next year, and years to come!
